Edith, arguably the best "undiscovered" band in Boston, unites great songwriting with melodic and mighty modern rock.

Fronted by singer/guitarist Karen Harris, the four-piece debuted their first full-length CD, "Outfit", in February, 2000 to a sold-out Milky Way Lounge.

The CD continues to receive glowing reviews, officially elevating Edith to "next big thing out of Boston" status.

The Noise and WMBR (Bob Dubrow) is "simply blown away...", and proclaims the CD "an extremely accomplished piece of mature pop artistry" that "rocks harder" than most of its ilk, and whose "pleasure rivals that of my personal savior, Richard Thompson."

The Boston Sunday Globe (David Wildman) lauds "the breathless explosion of cascading electric guitars and vocals reminiscent of Patti Smith...with lyrics like streetwise poetry", while The Boston Globe's Steve Morse hails the band as "positively superb". As local critic Bryon Turcotte says, it's "what happens when all the stars line up".

Experience Edith's explosive live show and hear for yourself why critics and fans are calling Edith the next big thing.

With songs that Soundcheck (Debbie Catalano) calls "smoldering, beguiling, tantalizing, melodic", and a lineup that includes former Weaklings guitarist and drummer Dan Jordan and Matthew Burke and bassist Jeff Cordero, Edith is sure to carve out their own place in Boston music history.

"I am simply blown away... an extremely accomplished piece of mature pop artistry which ought to lift Karen Harris and company into the ranks of the Purest of Pop Purveyors. Residing there already are local talents like Aimee Mann, Knots and Crosses, and Merrie Amsterburg, but Edith rocks harder than any of them do... The pleasure rivals that of my personal savior Richard Thopmson. This is high praise." - (Bob Dubrow, The Noise)

"Positively superb. Harris's lyrics are intelligent takes on modern society... Slamming guitar." - (Steve Morse, the Boston Globe)

"The new CD 'Outfit' by Karen Harris's group Edith opens with a breathless explosion of cascading electric guitars and punchy sing-along vocals reminiscent of Patti Smith... Although her lyrics reflect the mind of a deep thinker, they are tempered with the anger and bite of streetwise poetry." - (David Wildman, The Boston Sunday Globe)
